To Thermomix or not to Thermomix, that is the question

I won’t go into the debate about Thermomix’s because you can, and probably already have, searched the internet and found many articles about the pros and cons. I will only give you my thoughts and experience with a Thermomix.

I was a complete skeptic and didn’t see why I should have “one of those overprices soup pots”. I marched up to an unsuspecting consultant at a garden open day, ready for a fight. Two weeks later I was a new consultant, in awe of this amazing appliance and wanting to share how awesome it was with others. I was a complete convert.

Why? Because that lovely consultant invited me to her home and showed me what it could do. She was genuinely interested in what was important to me at meal times and for my cooking. She helped me to see how that Thermomix could help me achieve my cooking and healthy eating goals and let me have a play to see if it was something that would make a difference to me and my family.

Since then I have learned so much more and come to see how invaluable a Thermomix is to my sustainability goals as well. The reasons why I see it as being important are:

• Runs on electricity so I can take advantage of my solar power during the day
• Multiple functions means less appliances required
• Excellent quality means it lasts longer
• Helps me to have less food waste
• Helps me to reduce the amount of additives in my food
• Allows me to do more with less appliances and less cleanup
• Helps in small or large batch food prep and preserving
• Makes really quick Worm milkshakes 🙂

The cost of my Thermomix was an investment that has paid itself off with the money I am saving on making pantry staples and cooking from scratch. It was also a lot cheaper than the solar panels on the roof were.
